Jive Cape Town Comedy Festival – 17 June

Winter is coming! Well it’s kind of arrived here in Cape Town a sthe next 2 days will apparently have very heavy rains (yay…). But the thing is that just because it is winter, it doesn’t mean that you have to stay at home and do nothing. So welcome to the new “Events” section of my blog. I’m trying to find as many different things to get us out of the house this winter, to make sure we don’t get the Winter Blues, and because if I stay home I might attack my fridge too often.

So, first thing you should know about for the month of June is the Jive Cape Town Festival taking place in Cape Town. Tickets are R150 per person and you can make sure you get yours by clicking here. It’s going to be heald at the Baxter Theatre and promises to be a cracking event!

The evening will be hosted by South African TV, film and stage star, Shaleen Surtie-Richards, so you can guess that it will be all kinds of fun! The funds raised by this event will be going to Newkidz on the Block which will help them to promote awareness if orphans in SA.

The Rest of the evening’s line-up looks like this:

Kev Orkian

He’s from the UK and only in South Africa between 16 and 22 June. The worlds best piano comic, will be gracing the Jive Comedy Festival with his presence. Kev is also a Newkids on the Block ambassador and has recently created a short film in South Africa to say that there is no such thing as an unwanted child, only unfound families.

Olivia Porter

Enjoy the amazing and unique juggling skills and more of this Brisbane-based circus performer.

Christian Lindermann

The world’s top pickpocket straight from Cirque de Soleil in Germany.

Felicity Ward

Australia’s leading funny lady here to tickle our fancy.

Mario – Queen of the Circus

The music of super group Queen, and Mario’s alter ego Freddie Mercury is a performance to remember.

Schalk Bezuidenhout

The Gautenger will be down in the Cape to share a good dose of SA humour with the audience.

All the laughing should be able to warm any body up on a cold June night!
